if you were to charge 5 packs 1 after the other do you think the fifth pack would receive less charge due to temp of charger being increased. Question

PostSubject: CHARGING   charger performance Icon_minitimeFri Feb 16, 2007 5:27 pm

SHOULD NOT MATTER HOW HOT YOUR CHARGE GETS OR HOW MANY SETS OF CELLS YOU CHARGE. I CHARGED 8 SETS YESTERDAY FOR RMCV RACE NIGHT AS I NORMALLY DO. HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBS. NEARLY ALL GOOD CHAGERS HAVE BUILT IN FANS SO IT SHOULD NOT MATTER HOW MANY SETS YOU CHARGE THEY WILL ALL BE CHARGED AT THE SAME RATE IF THE POWER SUPPLY IS CONSTANT.

PostSubject: EQUALISING   charger performance Icon_minitimeMon Feb 19, 2007 3:07 pm

ARE YOU EQUAILISING YOUR PACKS BEFORE CHARGING? THE NUMBERS SEEM LOW IF THESE ARE 3700'S THEY SHOULD GO UP TO APPROX. 4100 / 4200.

PostSubject: dischargig   charger performance Icon_minitimeMon Feb 19, 2007 4:40 pm

yes discharging at 20 amps down to 5.4 ish then equalising on smart tray to .9 v/cell.left to cool then charged at 5a 25mv peak.i know you would recommend higher charge/peak rate bt at my level of driving this seems enough and may prolong battery life

Batteries Are really tricky
I charge them 6 amp 30mv I read around 4100-4200 out of matched gp4300 cells they are well looked after but I don't know why figures are too low,I keep them charged till next meeting, day before discharge them with spintec batman, then charge at race day before race...but still Low and LOw...I have trinity 2.5 equilizer tray but its a bit old may have to go to novak smart tray...
